EARTHDAY FESTIVAL 2008 - A HIT!

April 19, 2008 brought together a myriad of companies and individuals to help in educating and encouraging the community of South Los Angeles to "LIVE GREEN" in order to save our planet Earth. Actors Community received special acknowledgement from the CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE ASSEMBLY and a personal shout out from California State Senator Johnson! There was live music from the band HINDSITE, native dancing, free tree give-aways, a raffle for tickets to the Pantages' show WICKED, voter registration, a screening of the Academy Award™ winning documentary AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH starring Al Gore, and many other exciting happenings. This spectacular event was hosted by comedian RODNEY PERRY, who kept everyone laughing and enjoying the festivities, and there was a special appearance by MISS BLACK CALIFORNIA 2008. Actors Community, Inc.'s mission is to enhance the value of life for at-risk kids, teens and their families. We believe in setting goals, family, self awareness, self pride, education, developing talents, emotional support, good nutrition and spiritual growth through God. Our program is designed to build a foundation for the start of a successful and fulfilling life. We cater to each child’s transition in life up to college or the working world. Actors Community is headed by actors who want to build success and harmony in the community. We want to use our talents to help make a difference in the youth.
